Iconic house music vocalist Barbara Tucker talks about her life in music and dance, NYC nightlife over the years, the making of "Deep Inside" and what house music really means, plus gives us a taste of those legendary vocals. Hosted by Vivian Host (aka DJ Star Eyes).

 

New York City native Barbara Tucker is the voice you hear on some the most famous house tracks of all time: “Beautiful People,” “I Get Lifted,” “Stay Together,” “Most Precious Love” and especially “Deep Inside” (deep, deep inside). Barbara has been at the center of the deep house scene since the late 1980s as a vocalist, dancer and choreographer, connector, promoter of the Underground Network parties and so much more. In this episode, we discuss the evolution of house music, partying clubs like The Tunnel and the Ozone Layer, the importance of turning a look, creating community and why she is called the “Queen of House.” Plus, listen in as she sings some of her most iconic hooks of all time.
